Preceding the full moon, "Moonpull" is a night of performance art that presents explorations of human physicality, emotional vulnerability, ceremony, movement and sound.
Featuring four Seattle local artists:
Curated by Courtney Chaney and Yell Freeman.
Courtney Chaney - “Rumination” is a movement meditation using bulk wood to ‘chip away at my mind’ exploring the mental, physical, and spiritual processes. The paired movement and sounds points to mental cycles, repetitions, rhythms to cleanse through the physical body.
Yell Freeman - "Trimmings" is an autobiographical performitive exploration of cutting back the effects of mind-body layers, in an attempt to confront the source itself.
Ana Norell - “Hemlagad Senap” is a performance ritual about herstory, ancestral trauma, ancestral racism, reparations, and Swedish midsummer solstice celebration.
Trebled Morels - “Untitled #4” explores repetition in rehearsal, in breath, in bad habits, in clumsiness, & in technology dependance using sound loops, & clowning.
